I think the highlight of my photography this week was being able to photograph my niece. She’s just sitting up and putting EVERYTHING in her mouth! Some very cute photos came out of this set! Oh – and there’s one cute one of my Boo.
I love to find a new use for old things. I love my coffee hot. I love the sound of "I love you's" from my daughters more than any sound in the world. I love the man in my life. I love collaborative creativity. I love hanging out of helicopters. I love to sew, to knit, to garden, and to read. I love to look at the photography of Martha Stewart Living, but rarely read the articles. I hate snakes, spiders and rodents. I've always been known for my hair. I'm a Nikon girl.
I often do too much, too quickly. If epileptic-clicking the mouse doesn't fix the problem, then it's beyond me. I work hard, play hard, and pray hard. Life is so good.
I've been a professional industrial photographer for 15 years. Born and raised in Walla Walla (and graduating from Whitman), my first job out of college was as a photography assistant for Coffey Communications. I learned on the job how to shoot with a Hassleblad and 35mm cameras while shooting slide film. There was no "snap" and see what you got in those days. I learned how to use a light meter and strobes to get good exposure. Then you'd have to wait a week and a half to see if you got what the art director wanted. It was good training. I was there for nearly 4 years.
Then I got married and moved to the Atrocities (where I swore I would NEVER live while growing up). I got a job at Imageworks Media Group and have been there ever since. When I started, photography was not an offered service-line. Together, we developed and made it into a successful part of the business. I'd like to take credit for that. And I love my job. I love that it's like one big field trip after another; never really knowing what I'll be shooting from week to week. Whether it be doctor portraits for the local hospitals, aerials of wind farms, a trek out to some decomposing building at Hanford, or riding along a corn harvester in a field (pictured above). It's an adventure.
I love to shoot and I'D LOVE TO SHOOT YOU.
